Minutes of the Meeting held May 6, 2008

The Capreol CAN thanks all of the volunteers who helped clean the highway leading into Capreol , on May 12.
We also thank the Cross-Country Ski Club for the welcomed bar-b-que afterwards. This lunch was enjoyed by tree planters and clean-up crew as well. We also appreciated the local volunteers who picked up trash on town streets, the Pump House road, and the highway north of town.
Together we will continue to make Capreol a fine community in which to raise a family. We also express gratitude to the Ella Lake crew who cleaned along their road. If anyone else picked up garbage on their own we, in Capreol, thank you.
Randy Crisp- Vice-Chair of the CAN

Capreol Community Action Network would like to thank all the volunteers who created and are maintaining the outdoor skating rink at the arena. “Job well done”.

Welcome to the Capreol Community Action Network Website!

Since its inception in the spring of 2003, the Capreol CAN has sought to bring together the experience, expertise, and enthusiasm of individuals within our community. For each of us, the goal is the same: to sustain and, in some ways, enhance the quality of life for residents of Capreol.

This may involve enlisting the help of school children and local volunteers to tidy the grounds of our cemetery, or the even the roadside leading into town. It may also involve establishing a volunteer-run family resource centre to help families cope with the demands of day-to-day life in an ever-changing society. To a large extent, it involves raising the profile of our community within the Greater City of Sudbury and beyond, creating partnerships that will help to bring many of our projects to fruition. This website, and the forum it provides, is part of that initiative.

There is no pre-requisite for involvement in the Capreol CAN. At present, our membership includes persons from business, education, the retirement community, and local government. We meet once a month at the Capreol Millennium Centre to discuss on-going projects and to communicate with city representatives. New volunteers and projects are always welcome.

Together ... Capreol CAN!
