4. Dave made in absentia comments, which were printed on Agenda

“This has been a really busy month, actually we have really started to accomplish a lot and our activities have really been noticed at City Hall. When I went in to talk about the Parkette and May 24th we got some really fantastic comments and everyone is offering support in what we are doing. This positive work will get us a lot of leverage for the future. We were consulted on the natives coming in which really pleased me. We have had a coupld of bookings and have several coming up. Starting at the end of May we will be able to run the Mill rooms as a full time motel type setting. Bonnie Krieger has been really instrumental in helping this project work so well so far. I was hoping to be able to broadcast this report live on my computer but have not been able to get the technicalities worked out so maybe next meeting. I would like to suggest we keep meeting during the summer for at least one meeting. We will meet in June and maybe one more meeting in July .”

Leanne (secretary for this meeting) had to leave. Following are minutes as recorded by acting Chair, Randy Crisp:

-Cst. Read said the ATV/Quad season is upon us and enforcement will be done. The bylaw for these vehicles has not been approved. I will follow up with Mackey of the city traffic reference the intersection/sign survey for Coulson near the arena.

Gary Gray asked Russ about the fitness centre equipment and state of the building - leaks, old carpet etc. Russ said this was to be considered in the Budget options and there was no consideration this last time.
Gary also asked why there was not public consultations on the new proposed Sports Centre etc. and Russ said that there was. Gary said he meant in the "outlying" communities like Capreol.
Gary also wanted a reduced speed limit on Sellwood for the trucks and something done about the "airbrakes" - at least a sign or something. This certainly could fall under the noise by-law or unnecessary vehicle noise.

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm by Virginia and Dave Bateman.
