The Legend of Capreol Red
And Other Stories From A Railroad Town

"Parallel steel rails, the rusting arteries of a nation, divide the town of Capreol. Once a hundred thousand men worked these tracks, their collective pride burning brighter than the best stoked locomotive boiler."

"Now the railroad is sadly diminished and trail lovers look to the stories to remind them of 'the good old days'."

So begins Capreol's Matthew Del Papa's collection of 18 short stories about the men who worked the railroad in and around Capreol.

Funny and at times touching, Del Papa follows the old railroad tradition of story telling.

Del Papa comes from a railroad family and likes to boast that his family has over 500 years of experience working on railways. Some of the stories came from his family; others from the coffee round table at the local restaurant.

If you like short stories, and in particular railroad stories, this book is a must read.

The 198 page book is available from the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre on Bloor Street in Capreol and at Capreol Arts and Graphics, located at 12 Young St. in Capreol
